How it works
What dermal filler actually does
Aluna uses two types of filler: hyaluronic acid, which adds volume and holds water, and calcium hydroxylapatite, which adds structure and stimulates some collagen of its own.
The point isn't to fill lines. It's to replace lost volume where it was lost — usually the midface — so the tissue below it is supported again. Fixing the cheek often does more for a smile line than filling the smile line.
Fillers are placed with precision using Restylane, Juvéderm, Radiesse, and RHA. Mild swelling or bruising may occur but typically resolves in a few days.

Consultation
We assess your face as a whole — structure, volume, and proportion — and build a plan that may span more than one session.
Numbing
Topical numbing goes on first, and most fillers we use contain lidocaine.
Treatment
Thirty to sixty minutes depending on how many areas we're treating.
The first few days
Mild swelling or bruising may occur but typically resolves in a few days.
Settling
Filler integrates over two to four weeks. That's when you're seeing the real result.

How many syringes will I need?
It depends entirely on how much volume has been lost and how many areas we're treating. We'll give you a plan and a number at your consultation before anything is opened.
Will I look overfilled?
Not with a conservative approach. We'd rather build over two sessions than overfill in one — and we'll tell you if we think you've had enough.
How long does it last?
Most dermal fillers last between 6 months and 18 months, depending on the area treated. Areas that move more break product down faster.
What's the difference between filler and a collagen stimulator?
Filler adds volume immediately. A collagen stimulator like Sculptra prompts your own collagen to build gradually over weeks. Some plans use both.
Does under-eye filler work for everyone?
No. Tear troughs are one of the most technique-sensitive areas and not everyone is a candidate — sometimes the hollow is better addressed by treating the cheek instead.
Is there downtime?
Mild swelling or bruising may occur but typically resolves in a few days. Most people go back to work the same day.
Can it be reversed?
Hyaluronic acid fillers can be dissolved. Calcium hydroxylapatite cannot, which is one reason we're careful about where it's used.
