What it treats

Texture, scarring, and firmness

Microneedling stimulates collagen and elastin production, improving texture, reducing scars, and creating a smoother, more youthful appearance.

Acne scarring

Smooths acne scars and uneven texture by rebuilding collagen underneath them.

Fine lines & wrinkles

Softens fine lines by increasing the skin's own collagen and elastin.

Tone & firmness

Improves overall firmness across the face, and the neck when treated together.

Product absorption

Enhances the absorption of serums applied during and after treatment.

PDRN option

Microneedling with PDRN accelerates skin repair, smooths texture, and calms inflammation.

PRP option

Microneedling with PRP uses your own platelet-rich plasma to accelerate healing and renewal.

How it works

What microneedling actually does

Microneedling is an advanced treatment that uses fine, controlled micro-injuries to trigger the skin's natural healing process.

Your skin responds to those micro-channels the way it responds to any injury — by producing collagen and elastin. Done in a series, that response accumulates, which is why texture and scarring improve over sessions rather than overnight.

At Aluna it's offered with PDRN — regenerative ingredients derived from salmon DNA, which accelerate repair and calm inflammation — or with PRP, your own platelet-rich plasma, to accelerate healing and enhance skin renewal.

We apply a topical numbing cream before treatment to ensure comfort. Most clients describe the sensation as light pressure or mild tingling.

Candidacy

Is microneedling right for you?

Likely a good fit

  • You have acne scarring or uneven texture
  • Your pores look larger than they used to
  • You want firmer skin without injectables
  • You're willing to commit to a series rather than one session
  • You want to improve skin quality, not change facial structure

Let's talk first

  • You have active acne or an active skin infection
  • You're on isotretinoin (Accutane) or stopped recently
  • You have a history of keloid scarring
  • You're pregnant or breastfeeding
  • You have an event in the next week

Microneedling improves the quality of your skin. If your concern is volume or movement, injectables are the better tool — we'll say so.

What to expect

From consultation to series

  1. Consultation

We assess your skin and decide whether PDRN or PRP suits your concerns, and how many sessions to plan for.

  2. Numbing

A topical numbing cream is applied and left to work before treatment begins.

  3. Treatment

Controlled micro-channels across the treatment area. Most clients describe light pressure or mild tingling.

  4. The first 48 hours

Expect redness like a mild sunburn. Most clients return to daily activities quickly.

  5. Between sessions

Sessions are spaced 4–6 weeks apart so your skin has time to build collagen before the next one.

  6. Maintenance

After your series, maintenance treatments every few months help preserve results long term.

Good to know

Questions about Microneedling

How many sessions will I need?

Most clients benefit from a series of 3–6 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart. Maintenance treatments every few months help preserve results long term.

Does it hurt?

We apply a topical numbing cream before treatment to ensure comfort. Most clients describe the sensation as light pressure or mild tingling.

What's the downtime?

Expect redness resembling a mild sunburn for a day or so. Most clients return to daily activities quickly.

PDRN or PRP — what's the difference?

PDRN uses regenerative ingredients derived from salmon DNA to accelerate repair and calm inflammation. PRP uses your own platelet-rich plasma, drawn at your appointment, to accelerate healing and enhance renewal. We'll recommend one based on your skin and your concerns.

Will it help my acne scars?

Microneedling is clinically shown to improve texture, scars, and firmness. Depth of scarring matters, which is why we assess in person and plan a realistic number of sessions.

Can I wear makeup after?

We'll ask you to leave skin bare for the first 24 hours so the micro-channels can close. Your provider will give you specific aftercare.

Can I combine it with injectables?

Yes, though usually not in the same appointment. We'll sequence them at your consultation.

How does microneedling work?

Microneedling uses tiny needles to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin, which stimulate collagen and elastin production for smoother, firmer skin over time.

Is microneedling painful?

We apply a topical numbing cream before treatment to ensure comfort. Most clients describe the sensation as light pressure or mild tingling.

How often should I get microneedling?

Most clients benefit from a series of 3–6 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart. Maintenance treatments every few months help preserve results long term.

Why include the neck with microneedling?

The neck is one of the first areas to show aging. Treating it alongside the face ensures uniform texture, firmness, and collagen support for a cohesive look.

Your own collagen, put back to work.
